Server virtualisation has become the standard for data centre operations in law firms; however it is not occurring in isolation. At firms throughout the world, virtualisation is often linked to regionalisation/centralisation efforts and/or data centre co-location. And how does storage virtualisation fit into the picture?
Desktop virtualisation has been slower to take off, but firms are starting to understand the relationship to server consolidation. Application virtualisation is sometimes seens as an alternative (or stepping stone toward) desktop virtualisation. This session will explore "how we got here" for server virtualisation and "where are we going" twoard desktop virtualisation.
